i'm in the process of reading w. hist, and i have a quick thought.

throughout time, there have been these stories written about love, falling madly in love, etc. etc. these span all types of cultures and centuries. but does true love really honestly exist? like helen of troy or w/e. huge war b/c of 1 woman. is love just some idealized bs that ppl use to capitalize off of? watching today's romantic comedies, and even old school movies like casablanca and roman holiday. all pertain to the idea of true love, and "meant to be". so where did this notion come from? does that kinda stuff happen in real life? do we each really have 1 person we are meant to be with? i always felt that we can be compatible w/ many different types of ppl. but @ the same time, a part of me always feels that there is 1 person out there...that's meant 4 me. but realistically, i doubt that is true. i dunno, i'm such a romantic. anywayz, how do YOU feel about it?
