so i got paid 11 bucks an hour today to do NOTHING. temp job. sat on my big butt and read a book from cover to cover 1.5 times. luckily i brought a book along or i would've been bored out of my silly mind. receptionist...RAWR. all i know is, whatever my future job is, it better be intellectually stimulating. i cant stand this not using brain thing. even walking around would be better than that. on the bright side i did finish an entire book...

so for those that dont know i got a part time job @ banana! yayyyy!!! and in other good news, my aunt bought me a sewing machine after she found out my desire to sew my own clothes. she taught me the ropes, and helped me make myself a pair of pj pants based on my old ones. tomorrow i'm going to go buy some patterns(supposedly it's ezer to make clothes w/ them) and have fun fun fun w/ the machine!!!

and in other news i had the most strenuous, physically exerting workout of my life today. that gym sure knows how to post the times wrong. last week there werent any classes, and today, i thought i was going in for a power ab class. i figured, hey, i've been slacking on the abs, and that's the core of the body. but instead, i attended some crazy body sculpting class where i felt as if my heart was about to pump its way out onto the floor. so i realized the reason i havent been able to lose weight and REALLY tone up is because i'm not pushing myself enough. so hopefully that was a lesson to me to push myself more. w/out literally passing out... too bad today was the last session of the class. hopefully they'll start some other new kool stuff.

yeayea, everyone has the same goals and crap for the summer. luckily, many of mine have/seeming will come true. i got my job @ banana(hopefully by standing up and walking around it'll be a lot more interesting, although not mentally exhausting), i got a sewing machine and will begin experimenting with stuff, my trip to houston seems a go for launch, AND there seems to be a pi reunion in the works. all in all, this seems to be shaping up to be a pretty good summer. realistically, i'm not going to get any trimmer in size, but hey, i can deal. i'm a big woman and i'm proud of it. say it with me now. :)

that's all for now folks! stephanie-out.

me: "dont tell me you think he looks like eric chen too."

ann; "honestly, he does. it's because we havent seen him 360 degrees, and we can only judge from pictures, and they DO look like him."

me: "yea, his personality is really similar to andrew tran too."

ann: "when you go back to houston, you should stand next to eric chen and have tran stand behind him and talk for him. see if it's the same."

PUAHAHAHAHAA. ok that was just random phone conversation. it's not word for word or anything, but the point i'm trying to make is there. ann's such a dork. ;)

anyways, for your viewing pleasure, some pictures of tony baloney.

OK, maybe it's not for YOUR viewing pleasure, but it is for mine. he's so cute when he laughs and his eyes get all crinkly up. heh one good thing about the frame rate being so slow, i'm able to catch these candid moments. in typical pictures his smile is really fake (ann thinks he looks the same in all the pictures. heehee)

nj, here i am. tomorrow begins the job search(wish me luck!0. i'm about to take a diagnostic test 4...yea let's not even talk about it. i dont know y i'm doing it. there's so much i want to do this summer. i dont know how many of them will actually happen.

on another note, i began driving again today. yes, i know. ME DRIVING! hahaha it's been quite a while. i'm still a bit apprehensive, esp. since i havent driven in AGES, and i'm unfamiliar w/ the car and roads. give me a few weeks, and i'll be used to that golf baby. i wanna wash it w/ that thing i saw on the infomercial..i dont remember what it was called.

lugging my crapola up 2 flights of stairs was definitely not fun. on the bright side, i'm quite happy to be connected 2 a cable modem. AND in my own room. (my daddy bought me a 50 ft cord. yay deddy!!) altho i'm sitting on the floor, cuz there's no where else 2 put my computer. w/ 3 suitcases i have yet to unpack. yea, i know. but i figure i have plenty of time 2 do that.

not much to say. boring blogs. i apologize. gotta take my test. laters.

ahhh...i leave in about 8 hours for 'home'. yea...home. which home? houston? nj? school? ehhh...i dont mean to be all thought provoking and crap, sorry. what a year, eh? as margot says, it's just orientation, but backwards. has it really been 9 months? wow. the room looks so bare, but as crowded and as shitty as when i 1st moved in. hell no will i miss that room. thank goodness 4 resnik next year.

going 2 miss yall. the crazyness we all have, the mad digicamness. yes, i have no digital camera, so i apologize that my future blogs over the summer will b quite boring and mundane.

yea...and econ and programming....going 2 miss that 4 SURE. economics baby....economics.

WARNING: this blog contains lots of words. pictures @ the end.

I decided that since i have time now, i'm going 2 do my "reflection on the past year" entry now instead of later.

Well, to wrap it up, this has been quite an interesting and exciting year. i'm really glad to have gotten the chance to go out of state for college. it's a bit intimidating @ the beginning, having to essentially start all over. i came knowing 1 person(pheebs) who i didnt really hang out w/ anyways. then there was latika(never met her) and kenny(my cousin), who i again hardly talked to before i came to cmu.

I was a bit apprehensive @ 1st, after hearing about my potential roommates. btw, all of us are from houston. weird, huh? margot went to st. agnes, and christina was from clements. from what i heard from other people, yea. we'll leave it @ that. maybe it was bad that i came w/ that impression, but it's all good. the rooming situation turned out pretty well. all 3 of us sleep @ around the same time, around 1-2ish. sometimes earlier, sometimes later. anyways, what i think a lot of people dont understand is that there are other issues beneath what u guys see. hmm...this sounds all convoluted. basically, sometimes we make judgements when we dont know the whole story. anyways, minus the minor annoyances, our rooming went quite smoothly this year.

from the beginning of the year, i've essentially changed to 3 different groups of ppl that i hang out w/ on a daily basis. it's not a bad thing; i'm still friends w/ all of them. i'd like to say that i'm really happy w/ my friends that i've made this year. going to a school out of state requires you to go out and meet all these new people, and i find that to be way kool. most people i met are from the east coast, which isnt so bad considering i am now also an east coaster. coaster. for cups. hahah ok. yea.

i started this year keeping track of how many weeks i'd had been here, but somewhere around november, i lost count. i guess that was the point where i started to get used to it here. it took me an entire year to get really adjusted, and i'm not even sure if i'm fully adjusted now. there was the whole 'pittsburgh weather' crap, and the crappy transportation system(altho it's better than NO mass transportation like houston), and like every1 talks about, the fact i actually have to work really hard to get good grades. btw, cmu is known as the ivy reject. basically, every1 who gets rejected from their top school comes here, and i am no exception. yea, anyways, most ppl had pretty ez high school lives, including me. it was competitive, but i cant compare it to places like sty or boarding school, or w/e. 1st semester was so dang hard w/ physics, my hardest class ever. i got in a C in it, but it's all good, cuz it's over. i never worked harder for a subject than in physics. glad i never have to take it again. this semester i'm doing pretty well. w/ physics out of the way and pretty good TAs, life looks good. next semester schedule looks to be pretty tough. 54 units, which is equivalent to 6 classes. keep your fingers crossed that i do well. the plan is to study abroad spring semester in australia. woot woot!

living in resnik next year, which is a pretty nice dorm, w/ patty. i hope that rooming situation will turn out well, i dont really foresee any problems. plus, tony and kenny will also be living there, so that's always good. :)

there was also the fact that i met such a spiffy guy and i am so incredibly lucky. because of our relationship, the pis are now in existence. go pis! anyways, it's been almost 6 months. i dont what to say here, all of our friends know what's up here. og baby. hahaha.

to all my friends that i've met this year, it's been really really kool. u guys all crack me up like no other. u guys are all so smart, i love talking to people who are smart and have stuff to talk about. i love sitting there at lunch reading the ny times, getting into random arguments like whether or not pigs sweat, talking about drawing on dress shoes(HAHAHA), just hanging out. yall are awesome.

i know i've left out a lot of stuff, but it's all good. the point is that cmu might not b the best school in the world, and pittsburgh might suck nuts, but it's not so bad when u have hilarious people to hang out w/. i look 4ward to my next 3(hopefully 4) years here w/ u guys.

and now, for some pictures of this past weekend and some from the pirates game.

OK, i know this isnt really a picture from here. doesnt ann look so cute? that's the prez of stanford, or something like that.
