it's the end of the semester, so it's time for the wrap up blog.
it's really flown by, amazingly. can you believe i'm almost halfway through my college career? grades...ugh we wont talk about those. let's just say econ isnt my cup of tea. AND i have to take micro next year. FUN. barely passed my programming final yesterday, and if he doesnt curve in regressions, things wont look good. damn, and i thought i was doing so well before...
i havent been TOO academically stressed this semester. granted, i averaged about 4 hours a night during finals week (6 finals, 1 project due which has yet to be finished). i managed to teach one SAT class this year, every weekend 8:30 am for 5 weeks. saturday AND sunday. well, i managed. plus i did some subbing and proctoring for extra money. i also taught csw(computing skills workshop) at school, which was pretty easy. i'll be teaching 1 class of that this coming semester. 8.50 an hour for easy work, i dont mind.
as i said before, dancer's symposium was great. here's a pic from rachel:

that's the 10 of us. this was a LOT of fun, really. for more better pictures(not to bash kenny), go HERE. i have no idea who's page this is, tria sent it to me. he was on the side, so i'm not really in the picatures. look for the group in red, that's US! i dont look too good in the picature i'm in, so dont worry about looking for it. :) i just got back from eating at this japanese restaurant w/ a few of them that are still here. it was really nice. AUTHENTIC japanese. i never even knew it existed! they have chawanmushi. i was impressed. it wasnt THAT great, alittle bitter, but still delicious.
so that's about it for my activities. o yea...i did this volunteer thing at the daycare, the kids are SO cute. reminds me sorta of high school TLC.

cute, eh?
i also joined the student alumni relations council (on the recommendation from my sister), which was a good idea. i met some really kool new people, and i look forward to the activities next year.
weather is getting cold, i leave in 2 days. am i ready for next semester? workload looks to be a lot. i'm finally going to be starting my IS concentration. i'll be taking some crazy stats classes, hopefully i wont die. i always have some chill time tho, so hopefully it'll all be good.
my goals? hmm...do well academically(blah, i know, typical). hopefully get to do ds again? it wont be the same w/out ellein(she's off doing lunar gala), but it should still be kool. cross train so i can teach both math AND verbal SAT classes. try to find interesting things to do around cmu? the usual.
o yea, and most importantly, RIDE A SEGWAY. we all know how cmu does testing on segway. i know this guy who told me if i go down to the 1st floor of wean and i'm really nice to the graduate students, they'll let me ride it. HOW KOOL IS THAT. i'll make sure to take pictures and show you guys if it happens. i probably wont have time this semester, but next semester. YEA!
hope everyone has a GREAT break!
