so my blogs have been getting quite boring due to the extensive use of language instead of pictures. so i was missing all my pi brothers and sisters, and i found some funky pictures that i never put up.

haha i look like a nerd looking at the inside of my baby car. this is the day we waited over an hour for the bus to get back from the stupid chinese grocery store. granted, if we didnt stop and take that picture, we wouldnt have had to wait...but w/e.

this is from the time we went to the conservatory and went by the cathedral of learning. i'm posting this pic, cuz i never even knew i had it. plus the sky looks really pretty. (probably from the pollution). btw it's the tallest building in pittsburgh or something? at least the tallest building in the area. it's part of the upitt campus. haha i never even knew what it was...remember you had to point it out to me? hahaha i'm a dork.

cuteypies. need i say more? carnival party.

no comment. just looks kinda weird.

arent these KOOL? at the movie theatre when we went to go see a man apart. what a crap movie. couldnt even remember going to watch it. it was that bad. all chris's fault. :)

brings back memories, eh? what a great year.

i made my first pair of pants that are actually wearable! go me! many problems arose along the way, but i solved them.

Problem: i cut it wrong, so the front part waist was WAYY too small.
Solution: i added two pieces to the side, so now it fits fine.

Problem: i didnt conserve my fabric, so i didnt have enough fabric to make the bottom of my pants.
Solution: i turned them into capris.

Hot stuff! i WAS planning on making long pants, but this is OK too. yay!!! i'm happy.

why HELLO everyone. sorry my last blog sucked. i had so much more finished, but then i accidentally deleted it. blah. i've got lots to say, but i'm going to try to maintain this is a semi-chronological order.

houston was a BLAST. despite the weather(relentless rain) and a perpetual lack of things to do, i had a ball. thanks goes out to all the people's houses i stayed at, and my chauffeurs. this includes jessica wang, eric liu, patrick carreon, jon li(patrick's friend who will most likely never read this, but drove me around nevertheless), michael liu, dana le, peter(and the hua family), ann chin, and pat hizon. those are in no specific order really, pretty much the order i saw them and stuff.
i saw other people too, and i ate pretty much everything that i planned on eating. crawfish, gumbo, marble slab(twice), tay do, GOOD pho, taco cabana, tokyo bowl, star snow, hokkaido, plus all the awesome breakfasts that patrick's mom conjured up. it was all so amazing.
it was great chilling w/ everyone again, and everything felt exactly the same. we all picked up from where we left off, no awkwardness or anything. hope to see all yall soon!
essentially my life consisted of going shopping a lot, doing everything twice(galleria, marble slab, movies, putt putt, bubble island, star snow, taco cabana). pretty much houston has a lack of things to do, but that's ok.
i was also able to see my old house, and that was kinda nice i guess. looks like the people living there now are doing a good job of taking care of it.
my trip didnt end too soon, or too late. on one hand i semi-wished i could stay a bit longer, but i realize that one week was the perfect amount. any longer and i would've overstayed my welcome. what this trip did make me realize is that altho houston is my birthplace and it was where i was raised, it's not my home anymore. as much as i love houston and i have massive amounts of texas pride(who knew that a little chinese girl would have it), i guess it's sad to say my life has sorta moved on. dont get me wrong, when we got to chinatown, i literally started clapping from the excitement(as jesska), but yea. not that i'm saying jersey is my home. blah, jersey SUCKS. now tony understands...heh. so really, i dont know if i have a home right now. sad to say, pittsburgh is the closest thing i've got to a real home right now. cant wait to get back.

so continues the 2nd part of my vacation. that includes seeing the whole pi group back in action, and i was esp. happy to see my one and only TONY. we all had a pimpass time in nyc, due to the extreme hospitality of frank's friend mo and frank and family. i freaking reeked of bbq for 2 days and ate like a hog, but it was well worth it. poor tony got to the airport so early today he was able to catch an earlier flight. boo. :( 1 less hour w/ him. ahh, well, i'll make it. 2 more months till the gang is back in action at school. i dont even want to think about second semester...

and the 3rd part. from the moment tony was dropped off at the airport, i began reading The Order of the Phoenix. w/ many interruptions from the MOM(ruHUM), i managed to finish at 9:48 pm, well earlier than the projected 11 oclock finishing. quite the good reading, although i have to say, beginning at book 4, the story seems less light hearted. poor kiddies who have to read all that heavy stuff. anyone who wants to discuss, hit me up and i'll be glad. for all you harry POTTER(not potface) haters out there, SCREW YOU! my entire family fought over who got to read MY copy that I paid for. heh. my mom bought another copy. 3 copies for 4 people. not bad. luckily i'm a quick reader, so i'm done.

conclusion: i've had many realizations during this trip, and i realized that i'm closer w/ my college buddies that i thought i was. also, we've only been thru a year together, and i'm sure the next few will bring us even closer. also, good friends will always be good friends, and picking up where you left off is the best part about a great friendship. when i got back to houston, i seriously felt like i had never left, minus more hugs than usual. (btw, i never managed to give patrick a hug, i thought i'd see him again and i didnt. :( so here's a *~HUG~* for you!!! and also, i cant wait till harry potter #6. i'm glad jk rowling didnt leave #5 on such a horrible cliff hanger as the last book.

pictures will be up soon once film is developed and scanned and sent from chris to me.

current position: in patrick's house in houston

6/13: arrival at IAH. on the descent i notice this large body of water, and i wonder to myself what it is. i'll look it up later. jesska picks me up at the airport, and we whisk off to eat crawfish and gumbo and oysters. oysters here are huge and a lot cheaper. then we go head to the galleria, and i check out the new galleria 4. pretty kool. the banana is 2 stories now, and a nordstroms, and other stuff. the only thing i purchased from the galleria was a marble slab sweet cream w/ a fresh strawberries mix in. DEEELICIOUS i tell you. i've missed it so much, after getting it at least once a week last summer. then we went to loehmans (they need to get some on the east coast), and i couldnt resist getting a pair of rampage slacks. i almost got a fcuk shirt w/ jesska, but at the last minute we both decided no. i was JUST talking about wanting a fcuk shirt too, before we walked in. o well, next time. then ate at hokkaido. they had those flowers there, i dont remember what they are called. but my mommy used to tell me her grandma would wear them in her hair in taiwan. they smell really good. anyways, that was yummy too. then off to star snow for my egg pudding milk tea. it's been a while. they've opened another star snow in the hk mall, AND they have punch cards now! guess the competition in houston got to be too much.

heh ok. soOoO today was an interesting recap of my day. ehhh...most of yall will find this boring out of your minds, unless you're 'part of the family'. and i doubt many of the 'family' actually reads this, (haha if i'm lucky, maybe 3?) so for all those not interested, dont even bother.

woke up around 7:40AM and got dragged off on the commute to NYC with my dad. went early, cuz it saves toll(hey, we're asian). fyi: 3+ people toll=$1. < 3 toll = $8. so i was in chinatown (canal street) at 9 this morning. barely anything was open. my mom and i had noodles at this cantonese place, pretty good. then we went off to go buy these lychees that we found, 5 lbs for 10 bucks. great deal, right? trouble is, we couldnt find it again. the guy disappeared. we walked around for like an hour looking for it. it was on this street where there were all these people selling bras and underwear, fob style. (centre street). after we had our food, that whole street was empty! it was maybe 45 minutes later, i dunno how all those people disappeared that quickly. so we settled for buying 4 lbs for 10 bucks. they're not bad, i guess. some are sweeter than others. but yum yum i havent had lychees since last time i went to taiwan, which was 2 christmases ago. we also went to ajiichiban and purchased 1 lb of those chinese dried prunes stuff. delicious, i say. o yea, and tenren. havent had a drink in a while. good stuff. got the taro. course, we also bought some cheapo food off the streets. those from ny know what i'm talking about. entire meals can be purchased for 1 dollar. it's great. spent about 5 bucks on various delicious chinese goodies. then it's off to figure out how to get onto the F train to get to my sister's place in brooklyn (park slope). lots of walking was involved in this, but that's ok cuz hey, i'm workout guru right? HA yea right. so by the time we FINALLY make it to my sister's subway stop, my mom's complaining like anything.

here's where everything gets fun. it's about, say 1ish. yea. so imagine. we'd been walking around all day before that. and then i start walking the OPPOSITE direction away from my sister's apt, and my mom's like...wtf? it's the OTHER way. and i told her that my sister needed me to go buy some bread for her, and it was right next to the subway stop. heh. and she's all complaining how my sister should go buy her own bread. yup. so i go into the store, looking for something specific, and i didnt see it so i went outside again. there were no other bread stores in the area, that HAD to be it. went in again, and asked the lady if alex was working there. she said yes, hold on. now, at this point my mom's outside fuming trying to get a hold of san ai yi. so i drag her into the store, and she doesnt even realize alex is there. and then i nudge her, and the realization appears on her face. ALEX! here in NYC!! in BROOKLYN! TWO MINUTES away from pam's dungeon!!! what's going ON!!! if only i could convey that kinda of surpise on her face... it was great. heart attack city. we had perfect timing, he had just got on break, so we chilled and got free bakery stuff(YUM YUM) for a while. then my mom and i headed over to pam's place, and maybe 5 minutes later san ai yi and her sister show up. and maybe 30 minutes later, alex shows up. hahaha it was so great. FYI for all those who are still reading this blog(wow you must be bored), alex is one of the 'family' and we all havent seen him in years. then about a month ago, he decided to come to nyc and live, and informed my sister who informed the other kiddies, but all the parents were kept in the dark. so NONE of the parents knew about this. haha so imagine this. all of our gossipy parents had NO IDEA alex was coming up. and to pop up the day that san ai yi's here w/ joanna and joyce from cali, how perfect was that? anyways, so we all just chilled in my sister's closet of a living space till joanna, joyce, and my sister showed up. then it was about < 10 minute walk to angela's place to watch the 9 minute documentary about her mom. it was great. freaking hilarious, i tell you. then off to manhatten to congee village for dinner. let me tell you, it was great. it's been so long since we've had the traditional group meal. it gets kinda lonely and boring eating w/ only a few people. it's always funner to eat with such a big group. it's like...houston moved to nyc. craziness. and keep your fingers crossed, w/ ban ban's idea of having thanksgiving in nyc, that would be PIMP.

so now i'm home. told you it'd be a boring blog. ahh...the extended family. and in 3 days, i'll be back in houston seeing the rest of the family. well, a lot of the rest. i guess this blog was meant more for myself. sure, it's for public view, but at the same time, it IS a journal. so if i ever get bored enough, i can come back and read this crap and laugh and remember how funny it was when my mom freaked out when she saw alex. hahahahaha
