this has been a CRAZY busy week, and it's not even over. 271 due friday at 11:59 pm, and 272 due on sunday midnight. no halloween for me. i guess that means we're not dressing up as chess pieces. hahaha

i'm updating, although i should be sleeping. just finished up 271 as best i can for the time being, going to office hours. i just wanted to write about my indiana fun. :)

first, thanks to the AWESOME people that played hosts to claire and i. i cant speak for her, but i had a good time. andi gayle and daniel picked me up from the airport, and on the drive home, i saw

a REAL pumpkin patch! ok, i took this picture on the drive BACK, but still. plus that picture is WAY small, but whatever.

anyways, after a quick drive through tour of the campus, daniel and i played tennis in the REALLY nice weather.

then he took me to HOBBY LOBBY! yay! where i got some yarn, and check out what we saw in the parking lot:

yes folks, those are SPINNING HUBCAPS. according to daniel, the epitome of white trash. haha hilarious.

anyways, then off to andi gayle's house for dinner.

yum! those are HOMEMADE mashed potatoes. no need for gravy, they were YUMMY! plus her awesome roommates made the bratwurst, which was soaked in beer. QUITE tasty.

o yea, before that i got to try on her army rotc gear.

incredibly heavy, and it wasnt even all full!

the after dinner affairs consisted of me learning how to make balloon animals.

baseball player! made by andi gayle.

yes i made those! with help of course. i know you think they're AWESOME! then i passed out cuz i was so freaking tired. slept for 11 wonderful hours.

next morning met up w/ claire for pancake breakfast, and another tour of the campus in rainy rainy weather. turned into more of a shopping trip. claire and i are now outfitted with indiana gear. later in the afternoon, zack and anchi pick us up in their spiffy business suits for lunch at hibachi. good times. then it was back to zack and anchi's place for rest and relaxation for the rest of the day with their roommates.

there was cake baking, random fun things, lots of sports watching, and my first time playing texas hold em.

check out the poker table. these people dont play around! hustling my money! it's ok, only 5 bucks. i DID win 1 good hand though, that was kinda exciting. btw, guys are good at baking too.

stayed up real late talking (surprise, surprise), then early the next morning to some italian place for gourmet pizza, then more shopping/walking around. BEAUTIFUL weather. of course, it's nice weather when we're NOT touring the campus. o well. here's more balloon animals i made in the morning: (btw the purple flower was NOT made by me. mine was so ugly and disproportionate i stole andi gayle's. plus i'm ultra proud of my mouse, my first effort of a mouse was not so good, but this one came out well!

anyways, then back to the airport it was to the dreary life of CMU. *sigh* it was a good trip while it lasted. people werent feeling very photogenic, so not many picatures.

quick THANKS to andi gayle for letting me invade her house, picking me up from the airport, teaching me about balloon animals, and being an all-around awesome host. also, daniel for driving me around and keeping me company. zack for shuttling us around also, and anchi for paying for lunch. what a GENTLEMAN! i had a good time meeting people's roommates. everyone is so chill. unlike CMU. blah.

and especially thanks to yall for breaking the monotony of school life.

o yea, for more pictures, go HERE

so funny story, that some might have heard from me already.

last week i had an interview w/ allstate the insurance company. great, right? till in the interview i called them statefarm. i am the smartest girl in the world, let me tell you. i'm obviously not expecting a second interview from them, but i'll keep yall posted.

have you guys seen that awesome commercial about taking the stairs instead of the escalator/elevator, w/ the guy who found missing love handles next to the escalator and turned them into the lost and found? keep an eye out for it, it's pretty amusing.

mid semester break so close... just gotta finish getting through this week. then next week i start dance class and aerobic fitness. plus taking on 2 more csw classes, where i'll be secondary, ie sit around and earn money. this means i will have less time during the day, but that's ok. i need the exercise. this increasing of the workload has meant less cooking. tony forgot to plug in the burner today to cook the curry. that's ok, luckily the curry stayed pretty warm till i discovered it 1.5 hours later.

so many things happening for cmu lately. some junior ece guy wins college jeapordy ($100,000), we get a nobel prize winner (kydland), michael moore is coming, edwards already came, and kerry comes tomorrow. does my school seem to have a democratic bias? OBVIOUSLY not. o yea, and taking back sunday, for those rockers out there.

time to study for marketing midterm.

so here i am, sitting in scaife hall proctoring a psat test in the morning after 8 wonderful hours of sleep. thanks goodness. yes, i'm a bit frustrated by my lack of understanding of html/php to program something that i want to do for my project, but hey, i'll let it go.

my thoughts are all over the place lately, but i am grateful to report that i am now more accustomed to my schedule. this doesnt mean that my face is breaking out any less; it just means that my brain isnt going as psychotic anymore.

why am i posting? i have no idea. i just feel like it today. all in all, life has been treating me pretty well lately, considering. i'm doing reasonably well in all my classes; not GREAT, but not horrible at the same time. next 2 weeks are filled w/ midsemester exams, which i am not looking forward to.

on the bright side, i was awarded a small one-time scholarship, which is awesome. yay! less money to pay back after i get out of school! also, i had the opportunity to interview for a company already, which is pretty kool even thought i dont want to work for them. experience points! also, i was given a raise at princeton review, which is kool. too bad i wont be teaching for a while after this; it's stressing me out too much. will be retraining for the new SAT in november. if you want to work for them too, i'd recommend it. just go online and apply, and you fill out like your information, and you write a short blurb on whatever you want.

indiana in 2 weeks! woohoo! i'm excited. (i can say it now cuz zack knows) i need a break from cmu already. also, happy birthday to ANDI GAYLE and HEATHER! woohoo!!

o yea, and a HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY to steFANie!!! haha
