hey guys quick update.

i went skiing again this past weekend w/ tony and frank, it was nice. i borrowed frank's gloves, which made me realize how crappy mine really are. my hands were still cold, but not as numbish as my gloves make them. i know i know, enough about skiing already! it was my last time for the season.

just bought a brand new scooter today for the bargain price of 15 bucks, it also comes with an extra set of light up (led) wheels. how kool is that. i KNOW you're jealous. tony took pictures for me, when he uploads i will display. now i just gotta learn how to ride it...i have bad balance. i plan on riding it around to class and stuff. yay! not w/ the led lights tho, i feel kinda stupid using those. i'll use them after the wheels i have now wear out, probably not for a while.

parry shan came and gave a talk here. for those that dont know, he's the main character in the movie better luck tomorrow. he's about my height, and pretty cute i have to say. he had pretty interesting things to say also, attending the lecture was well worth it. anyways, i have a picture w/ him. well, sorta. i was too impatient to wait, so i just took it sorta behind him...anyways, when that's uploaded i'll put it here too.

bill gates also came and talked. i didnt get tickets, but i watched the live feed online from my room. talk was kinda boring, some of the questions students asked made me embarassed to be here. one guy (the president of kgb, if you dont go to cmu, dont ask man) asked him if he ever used linux before, and then presented him a copy of it. another guy went on this whole religious spiel. anyways, wasnt that great, and he jetted off to cornell afterwards.

2 more weeks till the nice weather of texas.

it's already half way through the semester and i still dont know the schedule of my classes. i keep scheduling conflicts, i'm an idiot. ahh, well, what r ya gonna do about it.

scooter! haha i'm excited. i just hope i can learn how to ride it. learning to ride a bike for me took ages.

anyways, hope everyone has a good few weeks before spring break!

i went skiing this weekend, and it was SOO awesome. first of all, it was only 30 bucks, includes ride, lift, and skis, which is cheaper than all the other clubs. hopefully the ski club's trip in 2 weeks will be just as cheap and i can go again. anyways, since frank and tony didnt sign up in time, i was by myself on the 10 am bus, all by my lonesome self. anyways, met up kenny and dave at the lodge when i got there, and we took a few green runs so i could get acquainted with the snow again. i actually got the same skis i got last time, these pretty newish rossignol 160 cm ones, which i like. anyways, we randomly met up w/ people on the way, and semi-skied with them. and for the semi-newbies, kenny and jess, they were REALLY good snowboarding. i'm impressed, i sure hope if i ever try snowboarding i'll be as good as them.

anyways, the best part about this trip was the fact i began to get over my fear of speed. last time i went skiing, frank told me that the only way was just to go, and not care about falling or pain or anything, and just to ski down. while i havent competely given up my fear (we all know i'm scared of everything under the sun), but it really works, i swear! i met these really awesome snowboarders (yes i was the lone dorky skiier), who while they didnt verbally pressure me to keep up, i felt it was necessary, and i went down black diamonds, YAY! without dying or falling. weirdly enough, the only time i fell all day was on a green trail. haha o well. it was so great, feeling everything sorta competing w/ each other to become a better skier, but not really competing. maybe i'm not making sense, o well. anyways, i took one break all day. started skiing around 12, finished at around 6:30. i'm pretty darn sore right now, even my triceps are sore, i have no idea why. i'm starting to really love this sport, it's so much fun! now if only i could get good at basketball...hahaha

i sorta wanna learn to board, but i'm not sure...i'd have to start all over from scratch, esp. considering i'm FINALLY able to ski decently. it looks 'hotter' tho, than regular skiing. maybe next christmas in vermont? but that requires freaking expensive lessons which de-attracted me from doing it this last time. although boarders get to wear more comfortable boots...if i wanna learn this is probably the time, before i'm too old and all i can do is ski. hahaha

ok i'm such a dork. it's pretty late (for my standards) and i'm still up and barely did any work. i feel kinda unproductive today. while i went to work, did an experiment for 23 bucks, and went to ds practice, i dont think i did much academically. tsk tsk on me.

and if you're reading this, i assume you clicked to it from my profile, which means you know i'm going to texas for spring break! yay! going to spend time w/ my lovelies, and i expect everyone to make an effort to see me. uh huh. i'm paying for my plane ticket, i THINK the least yall can do is make some time for me.

1 more thing: just wanna say i'm obsessed w/ that meteor garden intro song. peter sent me this ucsd music video some college kids made, and i realized how much i like this song, and now i listen to it constantly. the soap opera sucks and f4 kinda sucks too, but this song...ahh! it's by some guy named harlem. weird eh? anyways, dl it. called qing fei de yi or something like that. great song. YEA! now i'm going to listen to it again. :)

i know you guys hated the last entry. if you have no patience, scroll down for pics.

i've decided to write a long boring entry to talk about what i'm doing now. school is going ok, semi-busy w/ organizations stuff, but not really. at least w/ this stuff, i actually feel like i have a purpose. what am i doing? well...

SARC- i'm currently trying to start an externship program at my school through the Student Alumni Relations Council (SARC). pretty much i'm trying to find alumni who will let a college kid shadow them for a week or so, to see what goes on in their job. it's so college kids have an idea on what they could do with their majors, etc. i'm essentially doing this all from scratch, considering i get to put the program together myself. kinda kool, i guess. not much progress going on currently, i'm waiting for my club sponsor to get back to me on some stuff. hopefully this program will be ready this summer/next fall. other small things going on in the club too, i like the people in it, really nice and stuff. glad i joined.

Hill Group- my first taste on creating databases, using php, etc. FINALLY! get to do REAL IS stuff! stupid curriculum doesnt have us starting till next year. anyways, this is also in the beginning stages. Pretty much a group of us is creating a database for a local for-profit. we benefit by getting experience, they benefit by getting free help. it's a take-take situation. i'm pretty excited about this, considering it's my major. i know NIL about databases, but that's what this is all about right? right now it's just a lot of abbreviations flying around in my head. php, sql, etc.

PHA- Peer Health Advisors. I've never been that hard core about this one, but it's still fun to do it. I joined the valentine's commitee, and we're getting a table in the UC, so people can walk by and make cute lil free valentines with construction paper and candy and stuff. i like doing this kinda cute stuff. yay!

DS- i got another dance this semester, YAY! it's w/ caroline, and it's to me against the music by britney spears. we havent started practicing yet, but hopefully soon. dancing is fun even if i suck! i'm really lucky to get a dance, considering i'm not so great at it, but it sure it fun.

TPR- teaching another SAT class, every sunday to prep for the May SATS. i'm gonna try and take on another class, that meets thursdays and sundays, and if i get it i'd have to wake up at like 8 and work till 6 which sucks, but i need more money cuz i used up a lot over christmas. we'll see if i get that class. PLUS i just got a raise today, YAY!!! i was so scared to ask before, but it's all good. it's not much, but every little bit helps.

CSW- Computing Skills Workshop. teaching only 1 class this semester, very easy stuff, very easy money. i plan on teaching it again next year, if you wanna do it too, just go to the CSW website, and you can apply there. probably around march or so?

So i think i mentioned everything extracurricular that i'm involved in right now. O yea, and i'm going to get safezone and cpr trained this semester too. that's about it. it's really not that much, i still have time to do nothing, which sure is nice.

classes are pretty boring this semester, very boring in fact. one thing that sucks is 2 of my classes have homework due every week, but so far it hasnt been too difficult. i'm told i'm the only one who attends office hours. heh. i know, i'm a nerd.

o yea, and i plan on going skiing this saturday again!

anyways, here's some w/ pictures from tony and kenny, both of which if you visit, you can see more of the pictures. they're from the winter bbq this past weekend at frank's house. theirs are better than mine, cuz obviously they posted before me, and they have the good ones up.

albert and frank spooning/wrestling. i prefer spooning.

my cousin kenny looking so professional while burning only the first batch. :) cheese!

josh posing w/ lighted cardboard olympic style

our new passion: cranium. at this rate, we'll be needing the booster pack soon. that's right, we're nerds. we spend our weekends playing board games. got a problem w/ that??

me warming my hands in front of the oven. frank turned the heat in the house off cuz the door was constantly open from the bbqing.

the group at frank's house posing against his newly put up wall, semi-complete.
