This is why I feel like I will eventually need to leave NYC.

We're JUST starting our careers, yet I already feel the discrepancies creeping in. I'm not trying to say I'm regretting my job choice or anything like that; I actually enjoy the work to do [On a side note, this guy walked by my desk today and noticed I had divided up my Skittles by color, and goes, yea, no wonder they hired you hahahahaha], but obviously I can't really expense the things I do, so my take-home income isn't the same. I can only imagine how things will be as time goes on, and the discrepancies only become more glaring.

This week's NY Magazine really had a buncha good articles; it talked about how far a dollar goes here, and there's also a survey to see how much money you need to be earning (post-tax) in 10 years to be living the lifestyle you want. ($120,000 for me). For that survey, click here.

On a more depressing note, there's also an article about a father who takes home $676 every 2 weeks. sad. =(

Besides that, life is going well. Splurges for the month: Snowboard, Shiseido lotion, trip to DC, and plane tickets to London. Whew!

Most productive weekend I've had in a long time.

Passed out at 11PM on Friday, and woke up at 8AM. Went kayaking with Dennis at 10:30 AM, then won lottery tickets (FRONT ROW) for Avenue Q. Paid a mere $21.75 per ticket. TOTALLY worth it. Freaking hilarious. Went to Bed Bath and Beyond with Jessica to buy her marshmallow aka fiberbed. Ate in K-town, then hit the driving range w/ the Tongster (who I haven't seen in forever) and Dennis. Think I bruised up my hand and got a mini-blister. We hit it up off-peak too, so got 117 balls for my 20 bucks. Still pricey, but better than the 80 balls I would've gotten if it was on-peak. Plus, got to use Eric's clubs, so didn't have to rent. I suck at golf; need lots more practice. I might invest in a glove; it really does hurt the hand.

I feel so productive! Grandmotherly, but productive!
