o yea, and on a more important note:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope u have a greATE birthday today, and i hope even more that we make it to and from outback in 1 piece w/out dying or getting lost. 2hours away from leap year. ahh, well, @ least u have a real birthday once a year.

ALSO,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!!!!!!!!!
yes, well, maybe it's not your birthday exactly. close, Mr. Leap Year. it's ok. next year, we'll go ALL OUT!!!!!!!!

luv u BOTH!!!!!!! see yall 2nite!

Wow, i go thru periods of time w/out updating, and then all of a sudden i'm updating 2 days in a row. well, i'm here to rant about BEING LOCKED OUT OF MY BATHROOM AGAIN!!!!!!!!! so i warn u now, if u dont wanna hear about it, dont read the rest of this entry.

So i get back from my workout, change out of my clothes, get my towel, and go 2 my bathroom. which of COURSE is locked. wtf?? so of course, i do the typical pounding and yelling, at no1 in general considering i knew no1 was on the other side. so u know, i'm thinking, it's ok. i'll just use some1 else's bathroom. i have other shampoo and face wash and stuff that's not in there. course, every1 else on the floor's doors are CLOSED. this happened like 2 weeks ago, and margot and i were PISSED when we woke up. after calling housing to no avail, we were lucky there was a janitor like 3 yards away, who unlocked it for us. this only cost us about 10 minutes, which is dealable i guess. after this incident we now have signs on the interior of BOTH bathrooms reminding the other to unlock their door. Yes. today was the 2nd time it's happened since we put up signs. WE PUT UP SIGNS!!!!!!! this locking out business actually happens a lot.
anyways, back to my story. so i call housing, and they tell me to come downstairs and they'll make me a key. so i haul ass downstairs wearing shorts, sandals, and a XL tshirt. the lady asks me what room their room is. of course, we all know morewood rooms are numbered funky. i tell her i dont know, and she says she cant make the key w/out knowing what room it's for. also, she says she doesnt have a floor plan of morewood. what bs. i'm not about 2 haul my ass up those stairs an extra time, so i ask her if it's possible to look up a student to see what room she lives in. she does, and voila it's room D404. she proceeds to make a key for me, telling me i have 9 minutes b4 it's deactivated. also, i have to bring it back w/in those 9 minutes of they're gonna charge me money. so i cant just drop the key by after i'm done. when i kinda complain, she tells me that she's doing me a favor and that usually under the circumstances, i would just be out of luck. she's right, so i sprint back to my room, unlock the door, fly down the stairs to return the key and say a hurried thanks, and make it back 2 my room huffing and puffing. i have like 20 minutes to shower, blow dry hair, lotion, change, etc. so i'm in a VERY VERY VERY bad mood. let's also all remember stephanie's on the rag, so that definitely does NOT help the situation.

so anyways, yes, we are also guilty of locking them out a few times. but it's no where in comparison to the bumber or times they've locked us out. also, everytime we've locked them out, we've always been there to unlock it. it's never been rushed like this. also, they posted this SIGN on the door saying that bathroom quiet hours are after 11pm, so it's "OK" to flush the toilet and run the water, but please no other noises. wtf??? ok i realize we are quite loud @ times. heh, margot and i are CRAZY loud in fact. even christina's voice carries. but bathroom quiet hours?? just cuz u go 2 sleep early doesnt mean the rest of us do. when i go 2 bed early i dont mind if my roommates leave the lights on. i try 2 respect their sleep, but STILL. OMG. stephanie is NOT a happy camper. i'm gonna take a fatass permanent marker and make a fatass sign to remind them to unlock the door. MAN everytime i step foot in the bathroom i read those signs. i dont see how u can miss them. RAWR!! heh lisa saw me this morning after i got out of the shower, and i started venting to her like no other. poor lisa. hehehehhee.

OMG! so i went 2 go 2 the princeton review office after class to get proctoring instructions for this coming sunday. on my walk back, i walked by the pbs station, wqed or something like that, and there's all these news cars in front, and i'm wondering what's going on. so i stop and ask one of the security guards, who told me Mr. Roger's DIED! btw for all u that dont know, pittsburgh is like where all this pbs stuff started, and Mr. Rogers was filmed here. He actually lived in pittsburgh.

man, i watched his show religiously as a kid. i remember on days when i would get back from alpha in kindergarten(alpha was after hours, so i had to stay @ school and extra 2 hours), i'd come back and rewind the tape, my mom would make me instant ramen, and we would sit in front of the television to watch it. ahh the memories. my mom would put each spoonful of noodles in front of me, wait till i ate that one, and refilled it. i even learned how to use the vcr for the sole purpose of watching mr. rogers. well, that and sesame street. i loved that little train, and how it would go into a whole other world. the owl, the king(actually he kinda scared me), everything was so great. how he would always change shoes and cardigan while he was singing, and the song was always long enough for him to perform the entire action without him doing the actions in silence. shoot, i learned how to spell "friend" because of him. f-r-i-e-n-d SPECIAL! up to this day, whenever i type the word friend, i still think of it. what a great guy.

i seriously grew up watching him. none of that barney or teletubby crap they show nowadays. it's a shame he died. :( the security guard told me that ppl were dropping by flowers all day. man, on my way over 2 princeton review i walked by the flowers guy. i was thinking about buying some for myself, just b/c. they had some pretty tulips. i'm a big tulips person. dang it. i should've bought some. boo.

anyways, i'm sad. mr. rogers is dead. *sniff sniff*

ahh yes. for those who havent heard the crazy story about yesterday's trip to monroevile, i shall divulge the details. for a quick summary of the situation, go 2 tony's xanga.

so due to chris's desire for returning his zelda game, we(as in chris, jeff, frank, tony, and i) decided to accompany him to monroeville(it was my 1st time). we all went(except for chris) under the assumption that we would not be buying anything, but it ended up that none of us left empty handed. chris and tony again bought matching pants(altho tony got blue ones), and just as they were checking out i happened to find a pair of gray dress slacks for 10 bucks @ gap. 10 bucks! originally 58. what a bargain. plus my old ones dont fit as well cuz, well, as we all know i'm getting chunkier. which reminds me how horrible i was this week, w/ a lot of slacking on the working out and eating like a horse. but that's another topic entirely. frank got a candle to alleviate the smell of his room, and jeff bought some bowls and a skillet.

anyways, so we sit outside on the bench waiting 4 the 67A to show up, and it begins to rain. we head inside where frank and tony play space impact on the cells to keep themselves bz. i defriend some high schoolers that are soon going to the prom. the girl is like 5'9 maybe, and the guy is like 5'0, if he's lucky. haha it's pretty funny. anyways, the girl tells me that the bus wont show up for another hour and a half, which i was quite unaware of. then she continues to tell me that the bus will only take us to wilkensburg, and not to oakland. we have to switch buses and take the EBL or the 71C. good news eh? luckily we only waited for the bus for like...2 hours. so we FINALLY get on this bus, which is full. as in every seat was taken full, no 1 really standing. not to be racist or anything, but we were the only nonblack ppl on this bus minus this 1 sketchy white guy. maybe 5 minutes into the ride i turn to look @ a shuffling to my left, and see these guys fighting on the bus(we were sitting close 2 the front). the guys work their way closer to the front of the bus, they fell on top of jeff as they attempt to punch each other. they manage to pull themselves off jeff and get to the front of the bus where one guy is somehow on the floor somewhat injured. this grown man tries to break up the 2, but the unhurt guy pushes him 2 the floor. he then harasses the bus driver to open the door, which he does not do, b/c he's not allowed to. instead he calls the cops, which soon show up in full force. NINE freaking cop cars surround our poor bus while we're stuck on there for a good 45 minutes. during this entire time there's this crazy lady who's going on and on about the fight, how it's black on black and how her ankle got hurt and how her 3 year old son could've been hurt, and if it wasnt for him she would've kicked their asses. now, i'm making this sound a LOT better than it really was b/c this psycho lady must've used the word fuck for every other word. i think it requires some type of skill or pratice to say it that many times and have it all make sense(i tried, it didnt work). this lady was crazzzzy ok? she talked about a lot of other extraneous stuff, but it's kinda beside the point.
anyways, the bus driver tried to get us to fill out witness cards, but every1 on the bus refused. heh.

yea. so from my inquiries, i've vaguely pieced together what happened. guy A stood up and went to go sit next to guy B, and they started to talk @ the back @ the bus. guy A started talking shit to guy B, and they started fighting. i THINK guy A had a brother, a younger one who was also involved, but managed to not get in trouble and remained on the bus, by zipping up his jacket. then they stood up and started taking off their jackets(chris saw this part and thought they were trading jackets. hahahaha). then yea, u know the rest. that's about it.

so anyways, we finally make it back to campus as we all make a mad rush to the toilets of jeff and tony. i had been needing to go pee since we 1st started waiting 4 the bus. but i didnt wanna take the chance of missing the bus, so we waited. stupid waiting. ahh yes. what a great feeling it is to empty your bladder after it has been under much strain.

yup. that's pretty much it. i really should b studying 4 my multivariate exam tomorrow. wish me luck!!!

TWICE baby ;)

WOOHOOO!!! wonton making was a success. GO US! (i get 51% of the credit ;) )

background information: what should we make next, after last friday's meal of tomato and egg rice? WONTONS! that's right. u heard me. did i know how to make these babies? heck no. so after countless tries of calling my mom in taiwan, i finally got thru thanx 2 help of my dad(i had the phone number wrong, NO WONDER). it's kind of a problem explaining how much meat to buy and how much to put inside, b/c according to my mom(and tony's mom), it's a 'go by feeling' kinduva thing. yesyes. so frank, tony, and i make the trek up and down the hill to the tiny 3 aisle korean grocery store to buy some wonton skins and cooking wine. that was quite the journey, watching tony sprint to try and catch the bus. hahaha man, it was frickin hilarious. course he MISSED it. hahahahahaha. anyways, sooOo...i tried my hand @ using "feeling" to make the meatish stuff of the wontons. err...hmm. about 1 lb of ground pork, our in some cooking wine, some vegetable oil, a bit of ginger(turns out i didnt use enuf), and about 3 packets of stolen soy sauce from the UC. yup, that's right. i 4got to add salt. so my wontons turned out a bit bland. OUR wontons. sorri, u get 49% of the credit. o yea! and we put shrimps inside them too. are we professionals? and we had just enough meat. YEA! yayyyy! then again i stir fried some vegetables(man, i cant live w/out those). i did 'da bai tsai'(supposedly called savoy cabbage or something??) and bean sprouts. BEAN SPROUTS! it's a shame i didnt have more time to peel off the roots like my mommy always does, but man they were yummy. my hands still smell like garlic from yesterday tho. that stuff infuses like MAD into your skin.

OK, off 2 the museum. i will continue working on this later.

continuation... yea it's sunday and my hands still smell like garlic. wtf? umm...where was i? o yea! i think next week's meal will consist of fish. yea, we'll see how delectable that turns out 2 b. stay tuned for future updates. anyways, the museum was GREAT FUN!!! altho we only spent an hour, it was definitely an hour well spent. we will definitely b going again sometime soon. chris has got some kool pix from there. i'll bug him 2 upload.

lunar gala was interesting. very good job yall! i spent like what, 6 hours of my life for lunar gala? started waiting in line @ 5:30. by like an hour b4 the doors opened around 7, i swear, like 100 ppl cut in front of us. DAMN THOSE PEOPLE!! had work @ 9 this morning, so i didnt go 2 the afterparty. still only got 5 hours of sleep man. so TIRED!!!

ballet today, we were all sooo tired and falling asleep. but that's ok. it was still so PREETY!!!!

and last but not least, 3 months and counting! YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

*sigH* it feels like the work never ends. it's a constant cycle of doing more and more work. as much as i LOOOOOVE academics(HAHAHAHAHAHAHA) i need a BREAK! that wont happen 4 a while. blah. my mood is so blah. i'm not exactly in a BAD mood, but it's definitely not good. this week is gonna b so crazy!!! looking 4ward to the ballet on sunday...

man, i have all these cuts all over my hands, i dunno what's going on. i keep on scratching myself. it's weird. o yea! walking back from chem office hours, i freaking slipped on the ice TWICE. luckily i didnt fall down or hurt myself. but OMG it was SCAAAAARY. it's so icy out there! there's a winter weather advisory warning till 4AM. it's been snowing alllll day.

ugh. shoot me now. it's back 2 work again.

Thursday, February 06, 2003

hMmM... tony wants me 2 update cuz it's been a while. plus i dont wanna start studying 4 the econ quiz yet. i've been meaning to put up some pictures 4 the viewing pleasure of all, but i havent gotten around to shrinking em, and tony hates it when i leave em big. soOo...if u wanna see some, go to Tony's Xanga, and if u wanna see more, just IM me and i can send em over and show u. o yea, and eprop him so he'll b happy.

so what's there to say? my workload has been OK lately. i'm doing pretty well in all my classes, i think. but then the big push hasnt come yet. it's hard 2 say until after i've taken an exam in all my classes. next week: 2 exams, 1 quiz, 1 final essay due. so yea, next week looks to be pretty tough. esp. the chem exam, cuz i havent been doing too hot on that stuff. i've been slacking on some stuff, and working my ass off on others. i dunno what's up w/ that. not very fair. man, if i do bad in multivariate, i'm gonna b pissed. every1 keeps telling me it's ez and stuff, but *sigh*. this is me, i always tend to mess up on the ez stuff. plus i've been slacking something MAJOR on this. darn. plus i'm not getting perfect grades on my chem hw and quizzes. i did better on that stuff last semester. i hope i do good on the tests. on the bright side, i'm proud to report i currently have a perfect score in programming. course, it's only 95/1000 points that we are yet to earn...but hey that's ok. it's a good start. *pat on the back*. hope i can keep it up!

K, that's all to report about academics. umm...what else? o yea! i finished verbal training 4 the SATs. that's kinda kool. umm...the 1st test i'll prolly teach for is the may 1, cuz the april test one doesnt work into my schedule. i prolly wont b able to teach on campus cuz those spots are all full, but yea. it's all good. i plan on doing some random saturday proctoring jobs for some quick money. 8 bucks an hour for proctoring. oOoo, next week i'll go "observe" classes, and that's also 8 bucks an hour. teaching is 12 bucks an hour, for all those that dont know. and after u teach like 2 classes, if u get good feedback and your kids do good, u get like a 50 cent raise. then like every 3 classes u do they review u for a raise. the cap is 22 bucks. and there's a lot of chances for random extra money, i dont need to go into details. i'm sure u're not THAT interested. wow, i'm really lucky to get this job. it works out quite well. it's really flexible, pays well, etc. so if yall are interested, u guys should try 2 do it. the only down side is that they train once a year, so...since i just finished training, u prolly cant try till next year. i hope to cross train into math next year, yup yup. haha i'm sure u're REALLY interested about learning about all this eh? heheh sorri, i'm babbling. but ppl are asking, so i'll just put it here so they wont bother me.

hey! i've been working out every school day for the past 4 weeks, so go me! and i'm 2/7 of the way there in the fitness challenge. i feel myself getting physically stronger, which is kool. i MIGHT b able to do ONE pushup soon. that goes out 2 every1 who has ever seen my attempt at doing ONE pushup and collapsing on the floor while the observer collapses in a fit of laughter. o, but i'm not controlling my treats to myself, so i keep eating a lot of bad stuff. altho i still eat my healthy stuff. *sigh* i cant control my sweet tooth. HORRIBLE!!!

o yes, shoutouts to patrick and ann! patrick got me a HARRY POTTER(no, NOT hairy potface) shirt 4 christmas plus a touching letter :), and ann sent me a way kool postcard of stanford. it's so pretty there! o yea, and shoutout to my sister for sending me the goggles and other goodies. going skiing w/ ASA this saturday! woohoo! and my last msg to people is a huge HIIIII to all my family members that read this, cuz i know they all do. this includes parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. :)

so that pretty much summarizes my life so far. nothing interesting really. o yea, i had dinner w/ my cousin kenny last week. that was nice. we shall do it again. ;) course, then frank and chris USED the poor boy. HMPH. tsk tsk. bad! o yea, and i talked 2 jessKa on the phone a few times over the past weeks. it's been nice, and i miss my chickadee(note how i didnt use baby). she's so funni. we were talking about how every1 has intelligent conversations except 4 her. hehehe. i dunno, i think it's true tho. every1 is @ a raised level. back @ home ppl made fun of me for reading us news. here, that's practically normal. ppl read wall street journal and ny times like it's nothing. then there's ann who talks about the current situation in iraq(that's what u get), so yea. college is definitely a higher level. altho i think that we still act like children. i think i could prolly still pass 4 a high schooler.

nope, i've got nothing clever to say. see ya later alligator. in a while, crocodile!
