I'm starting to realize that "this isn't all there is". CMU isn't the end all be all. There's MORE out there. There's NORMAL PEOPLE out there! People who have fun, are driven, smart, funny, and yes, even some Texans. Oooo yea.

I come to this realization the same time that Jessica comes to realize the opposite, coming from UT. It's like we're meeting in the middle. I'm not trying to say that CMU has NO normal people; not at all. It's just... we don't click as well. Maybe it's partly my fault; I don't make an effort to get to know others very well. But the ultimate point is, CMU isn't it. Life has more to offer than a school in a bubble known as Pittsburgh. And with 1 more semester to go (keep your fingers crossed), I will be leaving that bubble and heading into a world with infinite possibilities. Not to say CMU didn't treat me well; the IS dept deserves my praise. IF I donate money to my alma mater, I'll give it to them.

Just some quick updates from the past week.

I SAW AND TOUCHED DONALD TRUMP! Most of you who talk to me already know the story. But this is probably the most exciting thing that's happened to me since I've been in NYC.

I watched Howl's Moving Castle. I was actually a bit disappointed. Maybe I'm not used to the more Westernized anime, but I still prefer Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. And My Friend Totoro, of course. It deviated so much from the book; maybe that didn't help it's case.

I was in Border's on Saturday, and I went to the magazine section. What did I pick up? US Weekly? Cosmo? Nope. POPULAR SCIENCE. Man I'm a nerd. I surprised even myself. I actually like that magazine. I think I might get a subscription later on to it.

Splurged on a Lacoste shirt this weekend too. I'll blame it on Jessica. That place was PACKED. Sure it was still 60 bucks for a polo, but it was irresistable.

Really starting to like my Shuffle. It's been quite useful. THANKS KENNY!!

It's only Monday, but I'm already starting to look forward to the weekend. July 4th! Hopefully I'm going to go see some fireworks. I love fireworks... I sorta missed them at carnival this year, cuz we were on the ferris wheel.

First of all, Justin is the bestest bestest big brother in the world. While in K-town, my right contact got knocked out of my eye. Keep in mind it's dark, people are drunk, and within 2 minutes, he finds it ON THE FLOOR and gives it back to me. Also note that I wear HARD contacts. Expensive stuff. I just got these contacts back in March too. Wow. He's amazing.

Went to the Yankees game w/ UBS interns and our managers on Thursday. Good fun. Then we went to Stamford for a talk by an MD on Friday. I like almost all UBS management people. They're all so nice!

I've been thinking about a lot of things lately. Interesting how things can be seen from so many different angles.

So what's my life been in NYC so far? Pretty good I guess. UBS is a kool kat kompany to work for, I enjoy my 'project management' role so far. I also like how it's an extremely diverse company. IE I get to listen to British and Aussie accents all day. So sexy!

I'm kinda grandma during the week days. I've been going to sleep between 10-11 like every day. Yea, it's kinda sad. But hey, I wake up around 7. I think slowly as the weeks go by, it's going to get later and later. Also, we're freaking hot due to the lack of air conditioning. I plan to go out and buy one tomorrow. Also if there's time, I wanna check out museums. This is contingent upon whether or not the air condition can be installed.

Weekends have been OK. I've been seeing some people, and Justin, my 'big bro' has definitely been watching out for me. Thanks! :D That, plus some of the UBS interns seem pretty chill. I plan on hitting up restaurant week and salsa dancing w/ some of them, as well as doing some other random activities. Good stuff.

I really appreciate the fact that Jessica has been here with me through this crazy ride. She keeps me sane, and tells me when I'm talking too loud about confidential stuff when I shouldn't be haha. Plus, it's just nice to have someone with you that knows you inside and out, and to have someone to go out with, shopping, food, etc. I don't know what I'd do without her this summer. Honestly.

Alright, I'm freaking tired. I need my beauty sleep. :)

So I'm a bit bored, and I thought I'd post pictures I have from this past year. Note to self: really need to get a digicam. I just steal from other people.

These first 2 pictures are from our dance at Culture Night, first semester. It was a 3 part dance (not counting finale), and the part I was in was choreographed by the lovely and talented Ellein.

Morimoto came and did a demo at our school. He was AWESOME. Notice the beautiful cuts of fish he brought with him. The 2nd picture is of me eating the toro tartare. Made out of blue fin tuna. YUM! The 3rd is Kaki, Tria, and Justin all fobbing out.

This is from Dancer's Symposium in April. This dance was set to the song "Cell Block Tango" from Chicago. We are all merry murderesses of the Cook County Jail. Woohoo! It was a bunch of fun!

This is from my first (and probably only) effort at choregraphing this semester. I'm pretty pleased with the results, and most people I talked to seemed to like it. Unless everyone is lying to me to make me feel better. But that's OK. I had fun doing it!

My LOVELY roommate and I. We both look psycho in this pic, but we're imitating our picture from LAST year's DS where we're hoping to BE roommates. Guess the finger crossing worked! I'm sad to lose you next year. :( I'll be sure to visit though. Hope you can cook as well as Vicky! hahaha

Ellein! My favorite senior. She introduced me to dancing at CMU back freshman year in IFS, and has been a blast to work with ever since. I'm going to miss you!!

Texas Picatures

Me and Yue Chen. I know everyone calls him 'Chen', but to me, it's always You-Chin. =) Anyways, haven't seen this guy in 3 years, but it doesn't matter. He's just one of those guys. I feel so comfortable and cozy around him. Yea, I look fat. Whatever.

Me and Eric after his graduation. Man it was boring. Notice the closed-eyes. heh. Always fun to find roads you've only heard on the radio before, eh? ;)

I'm holding one of the boxes with the eaten crawfish. NO I didn't eat that ALL by myself. But I probably did eat about that much. I wouldn't be surprised. Jessica and I tore that crawfish boil apart. We ate from beginning to end while everyone else stopped.

Me and a REALLY big crawfish. It's hard to tell from the picture.

Kenny, his brother Stephen, and Jessica being weirdos.

The original mah jong crew reunited minus Mary.

Kenny and I, with his perfected 'hold the camera yourself' picture. Pretty impressive. See you in NYC soon!
